Amazing Pawprints

In Loving memory of the Danes that have touched our lives and left their pawprints in our hearts.

I only wanted you

They say memories are golden, well maybe that's true

I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you, a million times I cried.

If love alone could have saved you , you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane,

I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

"Gabrielle"

Ch. Adonis' Angel Amongst Us

DOB:  10 Nov 1999

Sire:  Kohinoor's Hallucination    Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's Midknight Aurora CD TT

"Gabrielle" was from our first litter and was our first homebred champion.  Gabe attained her Canadian Championship at 16 months of age with a BOS over Specials.  At 9 months of age we went to the Great Dane Club of America National Specialty in Kansas City, where Gabe placed 2nd in her class (9 - 12 months).  Gabe was our "Natural Eared Beauty" .  She was very much like her mom, Gabe was a very big goof who loved to play, and give hugs and kisses. She loved everyone and filled our days with laughter.  Gabe taught us to live everyday the way she did...with PASSION !!

Gabe was lost to a severe Bacterial infection (it was essentially flesh eating disease) within 5 days of a surgical artificial insemination.

"Samson"

Ch. Adonis' Bolt From The Blue

DOB: 26 May 2000

Sire: Kohinoor's Hallucination  Dam: Ch. Blackbrydge's MidKnight Aurora CD TT

"Samson"  was a very special boy.  He had the size, the conformation and the temperament of only the Greatest Danes.  I believe that his human Dad said it best when he said that Samson was "a Blessing.  He lived each day like there was no tomorrow.  He was always there to greet anyone at the door who came to visit with his patented lean.  He was a fantastic dog" .  "He loved anyone and everyone. He was a fantastic show dog and my best friend." Samson had many accomplishments in the show ring in his short life, he achieved many BOB's and  Group placements along with his most recent accomplishment, a BOS over BIS winning dogs at the 2002 Great Dane Club of Canada Western Division Regional Specialty.

Samson was lost to sudden onset bacterial DCM (Dilated Cardio-Myopathy).

"Cinder"

Adonis' Courage of Lulu

DOB: 16 Jun 01

Sire: Ch. Rockingdane's Lonestar    Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's MidKnight Aurora CD TT

"Cinder" was a very special girl who was the center of her daddy's world.  At 15 weeks of age Cinder was diagnosed with PRAA (Persistant Right Aortic Arch)  which was promptly surgically corrected but left Cinder with a false mega-esophagus, therefore causing Cinder to have to constantly battle with inhalation pneumonia.  Cinder's daddy gave her the best care ever and went above and beyond the call of duty for Cinder.  It was a very difficult and heroic decision for her dad to let Cinder go when the pneumonia's became almost constant and were harder and harder for Cinder to battle.  She will always be remembered by her dad, her mom and all of us here.

"Hogan"

Ch. Rockingdane's Hardrock Cafe

DOB  22 Oct 1996    Sire: Ch. Alano's Prom Knight       Dam: Ch. RTD's Incredible Journey

“Hogan” came into our home at 13 months of age, but into our hearts at the age of 7 months.  Rory spotted him at a Dog show when he  was about 7 months old and it was love at first sight.  Hogan is Rory’s soul mate - they are inseparable.  After a very successful show career, Hogan has been awarded the job of "couch potato".  Late in life Hogan suffered from Bridging Spondylosis and Disc Disease.  He is greatly missed by all of us here at home.  Hogan left us Aug 16, 2004.

"Rory"

Ch. Blackbrydge's MidKnight Aurora CD TT

DOB 21 Nov 1995

Sire: Ch. Diana N Links Cole Porter     Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's Sizzling Hot

Rory” is our first love.  She arrived at our home in early Jan of 1996, and immediately stole our hearts.  Mike and I had researched for over a year to find the perfect girl for us, and with the help of her breeders JoAnne and John Warner (Blackbrydge), our dream became a reality.  Rory is our Foundation Bitch and has provided us with 3 incredible litters.  She is now spayed and gets to just hang on the couch and keep the kids in order.  Rory has achieved her CD (Companion Dog - Obedience title) which compliments her Canadian Championship and her Temperament Test designations.  A Dane with Style, Great Temperament and Smarts -  The WHOLE package.

Rory had been honored with the Great Dane Club of Canada Western Division 2001 & 2003 Brood Bitch Award and the 2003 National Great Dane Club of Canada Brood Bitch Award..

Rory fought a valliant battle with sudden onset Kidney Disease, and was always the happy "mamma dawg" that we knew, tail waggin' and keeping the rest of the kids in line.  Her presence here will be deeply missed.  Rory left us Sept 07, 2004.

   "Blue"

Adonis' Holliday By the Sea

  DOB:  21 April 2005

Sire:  Kohinoor Lexus Harley    Dam:  Ch Adonis' Divine Intervention CGN

A big silly guy... loved by all... missed deeply by his family....

Blue was lost suddenly at 17 months of age to "Acute Cardiac Death associated with an abnormality of the conduction system resulting in ventricular tachycardia"  - Central Laboratory for Veterinarians - David Gribble DVM PhD Diplomate ACVD.

Blue left very large footprints in Chris and Andrea's hearts, footprints that can never be filled,  Blue is watching down on the 2 new 4 legged additions to the family (Bluie and Sadie) as well as the little 2 legged addition he never got to officially meet.. only got to poke with his nose through his mom's belly...

A truly noble dog of distinction !!

    "Kole"

Adonis' Kole Kushi

 DOB:  10 Nov 1999

Sire:  Kohinoor's Hallucination    Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's Midknight Aurora CD TT

Kole was a special boy... size and structure were all his... he was as sweet and gentle as they come and lived his last year and a little with a very special family who were willing to deal with the medical issues that affected Kole as he aged... Kole in his old age acquired a lazy esophagus.. thus causing a small pouch to develop deep in his throat... this caused him to have occasional (and sometimes frequent) coughing and small vomits of flem and food that would get "caught" in the pouch, that the esophagus just could not move down.  Otherwise he was a very happy and healthy boy who slept on his little girls or boys bed and kept his younger great Dane brother in line.  Anyone who met Kole was immediately touched by his kindness and mesmerizing eyes.  He was the kind of dog that changed you forever with his charm and charisma... he is deeply missed but never to be forgotten by the Anderson & Adonis families.

    "Buddy"

Ch. Adonis' Adorable Buddy

  DOB:  10 Nov 1999

Sire:  Kohinoor's Hallucination    Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's Midknight Aurora CD TT

Buddy was one in a million... he carefully watched over and comforted his dad when they both grieved the loss of Samson... he protected his girls and his new mom and little girl from any potential harm.. he welcomed a new little boy addition to the family... a family that was his to serve and protect.  When Lymphosarcoma was diagnosed in Buddy, his dad did whatever he could to make Boobs last days as comfortable as possible and spent the last night sleeping with Buddy on the floor.  Buddy has already made a great impact on the Adonis breeding program and will continue to impact our breeding program and the Bluebolt breeding program for many years.  His watchful eye and quiet strong presence is greatly missed by the Oyhenart's.  Sweet dreams "boobs".

"Joe"

Adonis' I Take Mine Black

DOB:  02 May 2006

Sire:  BPIG Ch Adonis' Electric Blue CGC TDI    Dam:  Ch. Adonis' Divine Intervention CGN

Joe... was a Special, Special Boy..... Joe taught me so much about life... how to live it to it's fullest regardless of what is thrown your way....  Joe suffered through HOD as a puppy and through sheer determination and strength he overcame, conquered and recovered from the painful and debilitating disease. His strength taught me that nothing is to hard to go through and that sometimes you must rely on those around you to help you through those hard times, this aids only to strengthen the bond and love that binds you.  Joe was taken from us much to soon but his memory and impact on my life will last forever... till I can hug you again..... Gramma.

Joey Joe was a Dane like no other. From his bunny-like coat, to his unwillingness to let a cuddle pass him by, he was truly the best ambassador of the breed that we have ever known. He loved, he loved  often, and he usually loved uncontrollably.  Joe left us suddenly at the age of 20 months. The reason for his passing was cancer.  It happened very quickly, but he was Joe until the end. Doing zoomies around the backyard with  his fur siblings only 24 hours before he passed, and still giving his trademark over the shoulder "Joe hugs". His short life was packed with excitement and hygienic duties, ensuring the other dogs, the  cat, and sometimes Oscar, were properly groomed and clean. In his brief time he was able to survive and recover from HOD, get half way  to a well deserved championship, get married.......  and consummate it, see the arrival of his skin sibling, and touch the heart of everyone he met. He was a wonderful dog who is greatly missed, deeply loved, and our house is not the same without him. There will never be another Dane quite like Jim Jams. We miss you Joey.. Mom and Dad

This beautiful tribute painting of Joe was done by Alina @ http://www.alinakremer.com/index.html  Thank-you Alina!

"Emma"

BISS Ch. Adonis' Emerging Perfection CD HIT CGN CGC TDI

DOB August 02, 2003

Sire: Ch. Bluestone Invincible    Dam: UKC &Can CH. Adonis BrinkOfPerfection Knoor

"Emma" stole our hearts at birth.  She was as intelligent as she was beautiful.  Her athleticism was astounding and her spirit as free as the wind.  She would spin circles in anticipation of a walk or run, but was as gentle and delicate as a flower petal in the presence of a newborn baby.  She thrived on activity and took great pride in an accomplishment or job well done.  She was SMART and BEAUTIFUL.. and was a real love and entertainer. Emma allowed me to experience, with her, so many "first's" in my life, she was a wonderful show dog... and incredible working dog and had drive and determination like no other Dane I have met before.  Not only did Emma excel at work, she also knew how to excel at play... and was the most wonderful dog to live with and loved everyone and everything.... her legacy will live on in the wonderful kids she leaves behind.  Emma has given us a glimpse at the level of "perfection" that we will continue to strive for.  Thank you Emma For being the perfect companion... till we meet again .... love Mom, Matt, Becky, Brinkley, Diva, Dixie, Kismet & Hazel.

Emma quietly left this world on June 24, 2008 after a valiant 7 week battle with Bacterial Septicemia.  She did it on her own terms and in her own timing... leaving those of us left behind devastated... I guess even the greatest of hearts sometimes break.  "Life ain't always beautiful.. some times it's just plain hard... life can knock you down, it can break your heart... life ain't always beautiful.. I miss your pretty face... though life ain't always beautiful.. it's a beautiful ride".... and Emma... this ride was not supposed to end this early... but I thank you for the most BEAUTIFUL & Exhilarating ride....Love you princess Yemma.... Mommy

"Brinkley"

UKC & Can Ch. Adonis BrinkofPerfection Knoor CGN

DOB May26,2000    Sire: Kohinoor's Hallucination    Dam:  Ch. Blackbrydge's MidKnight Aurora TT CD

Brinkley is our "Old Soul" she is wiser than her years.  She is one of the sweetest most affectionate and distinguished Danes you will ever meet.  She enjoys a good run, a big cuddle in bed and insists on leaving a large string of "gob" on her mom every morning after breakfast (mom has learned not to put on the "good or clean" clothes until after feeding time. :-)  Brinkley had a very successful  show career, and then topped her accomplishments in the ring by producing a wonderful litter of 11.  Brinkley has endured a lot in her life.  She was attacked by another dog (non related) when she was younger which left her with a large scar on her shoulder and some scar tissue damage that at times constricts return blood flow from her foot, she has also persevered through a Splenic torsion, and when the scare of a Pyometra (uterine infection) surfaced after a heat cycle, we didn't even hesitate to do what was best for Brinkley and we spayed her (it turns out that there was no Pyometra and it was in fact an incorrect diagnosis).  Brinkley is now the ever watchful guardian of the couch or bed, the ever concerned watchful eye of new babies  and is so happy just to be   ......  Brinkley left us April 21, 2009 due to Kidney Disease.

"Jersey Girl"

Estwd Adonis It Must Be Kismet

When fate gives you an opportunity of a lifetime... sometimes you must take it... that is what our little Jersey girl is for us.  Jersey arrived here on Canadian soil from her breeder Kim Eastwood at the tender age of 15 weeks... a wonderful and beautiful addition to the Adonis and Kismet families as well as to her Mom, Dad and brother Butler.  A baby of great quality to compliment our lines...

"Dixie"

Adonis' Litl Piza Perfection

DOB Mar 17,2008    Sire: Ch. Adonis' Creating  An Uproar CGN CGC TDI    Dam: BISS Ch. Adonis' Emerging Perfection CD CGN HIT CGC TDI

A beautiful culmination of her mother and her father is what this little show stopper is.... she is, like her mother, smart and determined... and like her mother and father as beautiful and regal as they come... with her daddy's soft gentle easy going nature.  A combination that any breeder or owner would be thrilled to have.  We cannot wait to see what fun things the future holds for our little chicken.. but with her heritage.... we are sure that it will involve greatness !!!  Dixie was called home to be with her mama Dec 22. 2009.  Bloat took our little chicken from us, way to early in her outstanding life.. we miss her greatly and can't wait to see her again...
